M.I.A. has her own way to respond to the critique that has been aimed at her after Lynn Hirschberg’s interesting but almost TLDR-piece in the NYT was published. She has now published her own truth up on the N.E.E.T-blog, go read and listen to soundbits from that infamous interview, over here.
Most important part of the post is actually that she also graced the world with a new track addressing the haters, called ‘I’m A Singer’ which majorly samples ‘Hater’ by Various Productions.

A group of NYC party-goers got an unexpected treat from Kanye West last week as he made a suprise stop at Manhattan’s CV nightclub and previewed tracks from his upcoming Good A** Job album due out later this year. Travelling with a small entourage consisting of Kid Cudi, Consequence and Plain Pat. West who has been been extremely low-key since his debacle at last year’s MTV VMA’s, played a handful of tracks for the crowd through DJ/hip hop producer Scram Jones who was playing the party…
“Kanye leaned over and said, ‘Play track three.’ They all went nuts, Kid Cudi was dancing on the table, and then we cut it off at about a minute-and-a-half. We went to another record, and that got everybody excited, and Kanye said, ‘Play number seven.’ That’s how it kept happening. By the end of the process, we played four records,” the DJ added. - MTV

Donnis brings in help from Estelle, John Legend, GLC & more for the “Fashionably Late” mixtape which is presented by Clinton Sparks. The mixtape will feature tracks from the EP, sprinkled among borrowed beats that Donnis gladly laces with his playful lyricism and southern inflection we all love.
